Houston Elementary

• You may bring your child to the front entrance, or to the west side cafeteria entrance on Third Street.
• The West Cafeteria doors open at 7:15 a.m., the front doors open at 7:15 a.m.  There is no supervision before 7:15 a.m.   
• During this time, students are held in assigned waiting rooms with siblings from 7:15 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.
• During this time, your child must remain in your vehicle (front entrance) or with you (west entrance) until your child's temperature is checked.  No student may enter the building that has a fever of 100 degrees F or higher.  Students with a temperature between 99.0 and 99.9 F will be asked to wait with their parents for five minutes, at which time the temperature will be re-checked.
• The West Cafeteria doors close at 7:40 a.m.  Students must enter through the front doors after 7:40 a.m.
• All students report to their classrooms for breakfast.

For all other dropoffs, such as a late arrival after a dental appointment, or a tardy arrival, please ring the doorbell and wait for assistance with your child.  Do not leave your child unattended at the door.  After ringing the doorbell,  please maintain social distancing from any other families who are waiting for their children to be admitted.  Blue markers are painted on the sidewalk in the covered area for your convenience in maintaining social distancing between families.

**Please note:  If you child was out due to illness, a note from the doctor will be required to re-admit them to school.  Thank you for your help in keeping our students safe and healthy!  If you have any questions about this, call 427-3110.**

• The front of school pickup area is for car riders only for student safety.  To walk up to school to pick up your child, please sign up for the West Side Cafeteria door dismissal area on Third Street, where there are crosswalks.  To pick up in front of school, please use your vehicle in the circular drive. 
• Any parent that would like to walk up to the school building to pick up their child will need to do so from the West Side Cafeteria door dismissal area on Third Street. 
• Students who walk home and students whose parents want to walk up to theWest Side Cafeteria door dismissal area (located on Third Street) to pick up their child will be taken to the West Side Cafeteria door dismissal area..

You are always welcome to pick up your students with curbside service to your car at the front of the school on Taft Street- just let your child's teacher know!

For all other pick-ups, please call the campus for instructions once you arrive on campus.  If you do not have your phone, please ring the doorbell.  During this time, only students and employees are allowed in the building without an appointment.  To book an appointment to come inside the school, please call 427-3110.  Visitors are admitted to our office area only once an appointment has been made.
